Bruce H. Koffler, MD
Dr. Bruce H. Koffler, MD is a fellowship-trained ophthalmic surgeon who completed his training in Cornea and External Disease at the Georgetown University Center for Sight in Washington, D.C. in 1979. Dr. Koffler served as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and the Director of the Corneal and External Disease services at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine from 1979 to 1987. During his tenure, he developed the University of Kentucky Lions Eye Bank in 1980 and served as its Medical Director from 1981 to 1987.
Douglas G. Owen, MD, FACS
Dr. Owen received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of
Kentucky in 1984. Subsequently, he completed his internship in family
practice at the University of Kentucky Medical Center and a residency in
ophthalmology at AB Chandler Medical Center. He is Board Certified in
Ophthalmology. Dr. Owen received additional specialty training in
Canaloplasty, a new treatment for Glaucoma and LASIK. He is a fellow of the
American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons. He
maintains a practice in Richmond, Kentucky, as well as working for Koffler
Vision Group. He is active in his community, offering public lectures on
the importance of good eye care.
Arnold Brownstein, MD
Dr. Brownstein is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and joined Koffler Vision
Group in November 2016. Dr. Brownstein is a graduate of Chicago Medical
School and completed his residency in Ophthalmology from the University of
Kentucky. After practicing for a large medical group in California for 18
years, Dr. Brownstein returned to Kentucky and was in private practice for 4
years in Ashland, Kentucky, before accepting the position of Clinic Director
at the VAMC in Lexington, Kentucky. After 14 years in that position, he
joined Koffler Vision Group.
